How does it Work?

BattLit Lamp are charged centrally at a BattLit Hub, which is powered by the solar panel.
Charged lamps are rented by registered customers within the neighbourhood.
The BattLit platform allows operators to pre-purchase activation credit using “Mobile Money”
Customers pay the operator the rental fee by cash/Mobile Money/other.
Customers use the BattLit Lamp for the rental period of 18 Hours.
After this time has elapsed, the BattLit Lamp locks and stops delivering power for lighting or phone charging
The Customer returns the Lamp to the BattLit Hub for recharging.

The size of our Hub equipment is determined by the local population the operator intends to service. If the BattLit Hub equipment is to be installed at an existing solar location, it is important to ensure the system has enough spare capacity to run the chosen size of the BattLit Hub. The following table gives a selection of suggested system sizes (but can be bespoke to fit operators’ requirements).
